The book “One Moment” was written by Anne Philip, the widow of the famous French actor Gerard Philip. Gerard Philip died very young, in the prime of his creative powers. The illness took him by surprise. Only three weeks separate the day of his death from the day when doctors told Gerard's loved ones what awaited him. Anne knew that Gerard was doomed, Gerard did not know this. He lived with hope for recovery and plans for the future. On the last evening before his death, he read Euripides, made notes in the book - preparing for a new role. In the morning he was gone. It is difficult to determine the genre of Anne Philip's book. This is not a story, not a lyrical diary, not notes in which she resurrects the past. This is a monologue addressed to her husband, her last conversation with him, in which she tells him everything that she could not say during her life, recalls the years spent together. This is a cry from the soul, a confession of a person who knows what true love is, a story about how this love, loyalty to the ideals they served together, helped her overcome grief and return to life again.
