Vera Sergeevna Bulich (1898–1954), a poetess of the first wave of emigration, had to live her entire adult life in Finland. Her first collection “Pendulum” (Helsingfors, 1934) brought her fame, followed by three more: “Captive Wind” (Tallinn, 1938), “Windfall” (Helsinki, 1947) and “Branches” (Paris, 1954). All they are fully included in this publication. Additionally, translations by V. Bulich, her articles from the Journal of the Commonwealth, as well as reviews of the poetess’s collections are republished.
