A maniac walks the streets of the city, torturing and killing women. Maggie Barnes, a talented artist, works for the police. She has been given a special gift - she feels the pain of others and sees through the eyes of murdered and tortured women. But even she can't paint a portrait of the killer. She is helped by John Garrett, the brother of one of the maniac's victims. They feel that this time they are faced with an unusual evil that the police cannot cope with. And to defeat this evil they will need some unusual help.
