S. Tsvetkov’s book “Charles XII” is a fascinating historical story about the famous Swedish king, whose entire life was spent in continuous military campaigns and battles. Of particular interest to the Russian reader are the pages devoted to the Battle of Narva, the invasion of the Swedish army into Russia, and the Battle of Poltava. A broad description of the life and customs of the population of European countries at the beginning of the 18th century is given.

Книга С. Цвєткова «Карл XII. Останній вікінг» є неймовірно захоплюючим дослідженням життя одного з найвідоміших монархів Швеції. Автор майстерно поєднує історичні факти з живими описами подій, що дозволяє читачеві відчути атмосферу епохи. Особливо цікавою є частина, присвячена битві при Нарві та Полтавській битві, де автор детально аналізує стратегії обох армій, а також особисті якості Карла XII та Петра I. Читач отримує не лише знання про військові кампанії, але й про побут, культуру та політичні інтриги того часу. Хоча переклад тексту іноді має незначні недоліки, це не заважає загальному сприйняттю книги. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться історією, адже вона відкриває нові горизонти розуміння подій XVIII століття та їх впливу на сучасність.
