“The Edge of the Foundation” and “The Foundation and the Earth” are the last (according to the chronology of the “history of the future”) novels from the unfinished epic of the American science fiction writer Isaac Asimov. Hari Seldon's plan to recreate the Galactic Empire is strikingly accurate. Disgraced First Foundation advisor Trevize begins his search for a mysterious corrective force. First, he contacts a carefully secret and telepathically powerful organization of scientists. But soon he encounters a much more powerful mental force in the form of a planetary superorganism, whose goal is not the Galactic Empire at all. But this superorganism is also stimulated by another source of mental influences.
