The story “Air Raid” (1977), in which residents of the “decaying” distant future kidnap victims of disasters from the past moments before death (in order to prevent “chronoclasms”), was remade by John Varley into the novel Millennium (1983) and filmed. The novel was nominated for a Hugo - 1984, and a Philip K Dick Award - 1984.
