The German physicist of Jewish origin, Peter Pringsheim, faced difficult trials; he found himself a prisoner of concentration camps in both world wars, which shook humanity in the turbulent twentieth century. Peter was helped to survive by his friends, who highly valued his human loyalty and incredible honesty. Such friends of Pringsheim can rightfully include Thomas Mann, Albert Einstein, and James Frank... Peter Pringsheim's Odyssey is reminiscent of ancient tragedies in its intricacy of plot and scale of characters. And yet this is a fascinating documentary narrative of the recent past.
