For the first time in Russian - the second novel in a conventional trilogy, which also includes the already familiar books “Death is a Lonely Business” and “Let’s all kill Constance.” Once again the action takes place in Hollywood, again the closest genre analogy - although by no means exhaustive - would be detective noir. It all starts with the fact that at a Halloween party, at exactly midnight, in the legendary cemetery adjacent to the legendary studio, the main character (a science fiction writer and screenwriter, the alter ego of Bradbury himself) sees a studio tycoon who died on the same Halloween night twenty years ago. To find a way out of the maze of deaths, real and imaginary, the hero is helped by an arrogant Austrian-Chinese director with a constant monocle and an embalmer of Lenin's mummy, a Jesus-like drunkard named Jesus Christ and the world's best dinosaur animator...
