Secret agent Roman Devinter arrived in the San Juan Islands on assignment from the FBI. A signal was received that big things were going on in a small provincial hotel: someone was running counterfeit money scams and helping foreigners hiding from the law cross the border. Roman got a job as a carpenter at the hotel and was able to unhinderedly observe the affairs of the owner, Charity Ford. However, this girl clearly did not look like a criminal capable of organizing such machinations. Charity was only thinking about work! Besides, she was so charming...
