The artist Savely Kramarov had a difficult fate. At home, he was readily accepted for roles until he became a popular favorite. Then envious people, rummaging through his personal file, discovered that his father was an “enemy of the people.” And the persecution began... Ill-wishers began to claim that with his roles he was dumbing down the image of the Soviet man and, in general, there was no place in Soviet cinema for an artist with such an absurd appearance. Kramarov had to emigrate to America. And here his acting career did not work out...
