The book includes eight legends about the knights of ancient Japan - proud and noble samurai. Tales based on historical facts are dedicated to the exploits of unsurpassed warriors: Torii Katsutaka, Kimura Shigenari, Gonsiro and other noble men. The stories, collected by Tokyo University professor Asataro Miyamori, have come to us thanks to street storytellers - kodanshi, who passed on from mouth to mouth the legends of the past, which extol the main values of the samurai code of honor: devotion, courage and honor.
