Roger Caillois (1913–1978) - French anthropologist, sociologist and essayist. The monograph “Games and People,” published in 1958, became one of Caillois’s main works. Considering the game as one of the parts of culture and one of the forms of human social behavior, he develops the sociology of games and supports the thesis that many forms of social behavior stem from a person’s attitude to games. Caillois believes that play can be considered one of the three most important spheres of culture, along with the spheres of the sacred and the profane. The game is a virtual reality in which you can simulate what is impossible in everyday life. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
