Dear readers! The book we bring to your attention is dedicated to Cap Coutant, one of the most famous caves, one of the ten most beautiful in the world. It was written by a speleologist who walked over a thousand kilometers underground and published about forty scientific works dedicated to caves. In this work, perhaps for the first time in Russian literature, an attempt is made to talk in an artistic manner about the exploration of caves using the example of Cap Coutan and the example of one of the teams of speleologists. The author does not hide his largely subjective position in relation to the events and people described. This position is reflected in the choice of presentation style, vocabulary, even in relation to some generally accepted grammatical norms. However, we hope that the book will be of interest to those who were and are interested in speleology, and to those who simply love travel literature, and to those who are still trying to find something they like.
