The creator of West German intelligence, Reinhard Gehlen, can rightfully be called the spy of the century. Having begun his service in German intelligence on the threshold of the Second World War, Gehlen chose Soviet Russia as his main enemy, against which he actively acted together with Himmler, Schellenberg and Heydrich. After 1945, he offered his services to the intelligence services of the United States and Great Britain and for more than a quarter of a century was a participant in almost all key espionage operations of the Cold War era, always remaining in the shadows, keeping their private lives in the strictest confidence.
