"Street with a deaf wall" is a cult novel by the Ukrainian writer Oles Honchar. The book tells about the life of an ordinary family in the conditions of a totalitarian regime. The main character, a tough military engineer, gets a job as a factory director, but quickly becomes disillusioned with the social system that limits his freedom. He begins to dream of finding an ideal utopian area - "Cities on the Shore". The novel "Street with a deaf wall" is a study of totalitarian society, lost love and freedom, which readers and literary critics talk about to this day.
