Книга переносить читача в буремні 20-ті роки, показуючи, як життя двох хлопчиків із фермерської родини змінюється під впливом Великої депресії, Другої світової війни та розквіту 50-х. Яскраві персонажі, їхні мрії та розчарування, а також глибокі соціальні коментарі роблять цю історію неймовірно актуальною і сьогодні. Хоча переклад з використанням штучного інтелекту в окремих місцях має недоліки, це не заважає насолоджуватися змістом і емоційною глибиною твору.
