In 1950, several families of American pacifist Quakers, who disagreed with the introduction of a law on compulsory military service, went to live in Costa Rica. Their community settles in the depths of the rainforest. Step by step they improve their daily life: they create farms, build roads, a school, a power plant, a factory. Gradually realizing the need to protect the unique nature of this blessed region, they create a reserve that attracts biologists from all over the world and becomes the pearl of eco-tourism.
