Лейтенант Лудівіна Ванкер - сильний і харизматичний персонаж, який змушує читача переживати разом із ним усі труднощі розслідування. Вбивства, які стають все більш заплутаними, змушують задуматися про темні куточки людської природи та про те, як легко можна втратити контроль над собою. Окрім того, підняті в книзі питання радикалізації та насильства в сучасному суспільстві надають твору додаткової глибини. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які незначно впливають на загальне враження, книга залишає по собі сильні емоції та бажання дізнатися, що ж буде далі.
