"In history of the Russian rhyme there is the sharp break set about 15 ago. To principles of rhyme "classic", - that was used by followers and эпигоны of Pushkin, futurists contrasted principles of "new" rhyme. At first that there were not clear, неоформленные searches, often taken to that new poets simply carelessly behaved to the rhyme, allowing to use consonances very approximate itself, by assonances very doubtful. But little by little character of new rhyme began to acquire quite exact outlines. From the verses of В. Маяковского, especially Б. of Pasternak and Н. Асеева, it is possible already to show out the certain theory of new rhyme. In the last few years this new rhyme gets all greater distribution, mastered, for example, most proletarian poets and conquers the verses of other poets gradually, to futurism essentially alien".
