“Things I Didn’t Throw Away” is a book about something that is not particularly common to talk about: about death, the experience of loss, the memory of departed loved ones. And also - about the inextricable connection with the past, about words and silence, about a person who never disappears without a trace.

Turning to the world of ordinary things, the author tells the story of his mother, followed by History with a capital letter, of which we are all a part.

The book received the prestigious award of the Politika magazine, the Witold Gombrowicz Prize and the main Polish literary prize Nike (2018).
