Mikhail Naumovich Epstein (b. 1950) is one of the most famous philosophers and cultural theorists of the post-Soviet era, the author of numerous publications in the field of philology and linguistics, emeritus professor at Emory University (Atlanta, USA). Back in the years of perestroika, he formulated a number of new philosophical principles, raised the question of the possibility of purposefully enriching language systems, and began developing a projective dictionary of the humanities. Throughout his career, Epstein methodically broke boundaries and went beyond existing academic disciplines and thought patterns. The collection of articles and conversations “Homo Scriptor” is dedicated to the philosopher’s seventieth anniversary. The purpose of this book is to provide a comprehensive understanding of Epstein's original method, his innovative terminology, research in individual disciplines, and his overall contribution to modern humanistic thought.
