Смерть її друга Бена Локетта стає каталізатором для розгортання сюжету, а її стосунки з Джередом, відчайдушним марнотратником, створюють напружену атмосферу, де любов і честь стикаються у складних ситуаціях. Автор вдало передає емоції героїв, а також атмосферу Техасу, що робить читання ще більш захоплюючим.
