Луїза Пенні знову вражає своєю майстерністю створення інтригуючого сюжету, в якому поєднуються елементи містики та реальності. Головний герой, Арман Гамаш, знову демонструє свою чарівність і розум, намагаючись розгадати таємницю зникнення хлопчика Лорана. Історія наповнена емоціями, напруженням і несподіваними поворотами, які тримають у напрузі до останньої сторінки. Пенні вміло досліджує теми довіри, віри та наслідків наших дій, що робить роман не лише захоплюючим, а й глибоким. Хоча переклад має деякі недоліки, це не заважає насолоджуватися історією.
