As a very little girl, Ani Choing Drolma, a resident of a Nepalese monastery, known today throughout the world as the “singing nun”, who became famous for her mesmerizing voice and special manner of performing traditional Tibetan mantras and chants, faced cruelty and injustice. A person who brought evil into the life of little Anya, it was her father. He, a drinker and narrow-minded, from early childhood seemed to be trying to destroy his own unloved daughter, humiliating and beating her almost daily. The girl had to go through terrible trials, through the pain of beatings, the torment of insults and losses, before she realized that she must go through life not along the path of hatred, but along the path of goodness and love.
