The book by the famous Russian historian, Doctor of Historical Sciences Alexander Nikolaevich Bokhanov (1944-2019) talks about the fate of the Romanov dynasty. In brief essays, the author draws portraits of Russian monarchs from Mikhail Fedorovich to Nicholas II. In this book there are no discussions about the public service of monarchs, which set the teeth on edge with assessments of the “role in history” of one or another crowned ruler of Russia. This is a story about little-known pages in the history of the Romanov dynasty.
