In the novel “March Violets” the events take place in 1936. The main character of the trilogy, private detective Bernie Gunther, is investigating the circumstances of the tragic death of the daughter of a major German industrialist. Following the trail of criminals, Gunther becomes an unwitting participant in a secret conspiracy, headed by some leaders of the Gestapo and SS. In the changed conditions, different, cruel rules of the game with high stakes begin to apply, the main one of which is the life of Gunther himself.

"Березневі фіалки" - це не просто детектив, а справжня подорож у часі, що занурює читача в атмосферу 1936 року, коли націонал-соціалізм починав набирати обертів. Головний герой, приватний детектив Берні Гюнтер, є складним і багатогранним персонажем, чия боротьба за правду та справедливість стає ще більш напруженою на фоні політичних інтриг та загроз. Автор майстерно переплітає детективний сюжет з історичними подіями, створюючи напружену атмосферу, що тримає в напрузі до останньої сторінки. Хоча переклад тексту має деякі недоліки, загальна якість та емоційна насиченість твору компенсують ці недоліки. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто любить не лише детективи, а й історію, адже вона відкриває нові грані розуміння того, як політичні обставини можуть впливати на особисті драми.
