Post-apocalyptic America. Gregorio Rivas was once the best deliverer in the area, but he gave up his dangerous profession and now makes his living as music. One day, Irwin Burrows, one of the richest people in the civilized world, comes to him with a request to return his daughter Urania, who had fallen to the jay sectarians. People who fall under the jays very quickly lose their minds and turn into weak-willed slaves of their Messiah. Burroughs offers a huge sum to save his daughter, but this is not what prompts Rivas to take up his old job again: many years ago he was in love with Urania and has not yet forgotten her. Setting out on his journey, Rivas has no idea how this expedition will turn out, how far he will have to go and what kind of enemy he will face.
