The notorious Brooklyn is a hospital for people with darkened consciousness. Within its walls, chief physician Crawford conducts terrible experiments, which he calls “peculiar methods of treatment.” Sixteen-year-old Ricky Desmond ends up here, and now he, too, will be “treated.” He will become Patient Zero. The Ricks explain that this is a privilege and assure him that Crawford's research will make his life extraordinary and vibrant. Having accidentally become familiar with the Brooklyn archives, the young man realizes that becoming Patient Zero means losing himself. He must run to save himself. Otherwise, something much worse than death awaits him. Something from which there is no escape. Nowhere. Never.
