Gigapolises have spread wide and high, in which people now live. Natural vegetables are more expensive than drugs, various chips and phones are implanted into the body, artificial dogs run through the streets, and billectron sparrows flutter overhead. Here it is, our distant future. A simple translator, an expert in various dialects of the gigapolis, is taken to very strange negotiations in one of the most odious city Sectors. And they meanly throw them there. Returning home turns into a hair-raising adventure. After all, each Sector of the gigapolis is its own country, with its own laws and procedures, and even its own language. Somewhere it’s ruled by corporations, somewhere by gangs, somewhere by who knows who. Crossing a city is much harder than crossing the taiga on foot and at random. A series of crossroads, a series of new meetings and discoveries, including discoveries in oneself. And now you understand that everything is not accidental, that some supernatural force is guiding you, leading you through mortal dangers to an unknown goal. It’s hard to believe, but a simple translator will have to become the unwitting destroyer of the entire civilization of gigapolises. What gigapolises are there! The world is about to change! And even beyond that - to lay down a new world order. No more and no less.
