If one winter day you meet a cart driven by a talkative skeleton, then do not give in to his persuasion to take you to the city. And if you do decide, then get ready: the skeleton (his name, by the way, is Bartholomeus) will tell you many extremely interesting stories, but he will also demand a terrifying payment. And these stories will be about the bloody confrontation between two worlds, about sinister rat-men devouring entire villages, about real monsters and truly terrible rituals that allow you to cross the border between universes. He will also talk about the people who are fighting in this war: about Saint Tausch, who gives man true life after death and guards the passages between worlds, about the architect Ulric, who knows how to build bridges between spaces, about the sinister man with the head of a horse, and about those who are ready to give their own life and death for the victory of their home world, because life is relative, and death is not final. All these destinies, worlds and legends will converge in the last battle near the city of Alraun, and not everyone will survive this battle.
