The kingdom of the dwarves, the great Mithral Hall is besieged by countless hordes of orcs. King Bruenor is dying, his friends and subjects are waging an unequal fight against the enemy horde, but there is neither a dark elf nor his faithful panther among the city’s defenders.

Drizzt Do'Urden considers his friends dead and takes revenge for them, alone fighting orcs and giants behind enemy lines. Bitterness, hatred and a thirst for revenge have settled in his soul and are pushing the noble drow onto a disastrous path. In this lonely journey, his guiding star remains faith in the triumph of justice and the victory of good.
