The Soviet submarine Saratov, scrapped as unnecessary, arrives in a small port town on the Atlantic coast - this is the unexpected situation around which the plot of the novel by a modern Belgian writer develops. It is this sea ruin, storing deadly weapons in its holds, that is destined to become the last hope and final refuge for those who have not found a place in life. Putting on the uniform of a Soviet captain, the former mechanic seizes a dream, like a woman... The novel was awarded the prize of the Parliament of the French Community (Brussels 2000).
