The body of a man was found in a villa in the suburbs of Oslo. According to the examination, the remains belong to a man who died twenty years ago during a military operation, and the owner of the mansion, an old widow, disappeared without a trace. Soon after this, a second corpse is discovered on the other side of the city. The body of the unknown bears traces of cruel torture. Chief Inspector Fredrik Beyer is sure that these murders are connected, but someone is persistently trying to interfere with the progress of the investigation and confuses the cards. The detective is once again forced to look for clues not only in the present, but also in the past. Beyer has no doubt that they are on the trail of a criminal who has nothing left to lose, which means he will do anything to quench his thirst for revenge. “Calypso” by Ingar Jonsrud is a masterly exploration of the mysteries of the human soul, mass consciousness and philosophy of history.
