All the film was of normal density, all frames appeared with excellent sharpness at closed apertures and with acceptable open ones, but in each of them there was a barely noticeable wavy veil. If it were a matter of substandard film or chemicals, then the defect would spread over the entire area, eating up the inter-frame gaps. But this gray background turned out to be completely irregular. Some shadows, or clouds, or even contours, yes - these are definitely the contours of human figures that were present in every frame. One large foggy figure, or two or three smaller ones, or many very small ones in a row, how many exactly is difficult to count due to the overlapping images of the world and views of the park. Here’s a controlled “wet process”... What did I show? For the next half hour I was at a loss..."
