The main storyline is the emergence, course and outcome of the 1917 revolution against the backdrop of a worldwide catastrophe. The author clearly shows the political isolation of Nicholas II in the state elite of the Russian Empire. The thesis is substantiated that the Civil War in Russia became inevitable long before the Bolsheviks came to power, due to the short-sighted and selfish policies of the liberal elite that eliminated the Tsar. The book exposes speculation about the Brest-Litovsk Treaty as an allegedly voluntary concession of Lenin to the German Kaiser Wilhelm II. In the context of the collapse of the state and army, any Russian government that found itself in the place of the Bolsheviks would also be forced to conclude a separate peace with Germany. The influence of the Brest-Litovsk Peace Treaty on subsequent events is convincingly revealed. For Russia it did not have long-term harmful consequences. But thanks to him, the Russian revolution boomeranged against the Kaiser’s Germany. The revolutionary disintegration of the German army, which occupied the western regions of Russia, significantly accelerated the fall of the Kaiser's regime and the defeat of Germany in the First World War. ÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷÷
