The events of the second part of the book take place almost twenty years later in France at the International Paris Air Show in Le Bourget. There the children of the main characters meet: the son of Martha and Arthur, Edgar, and the daughter of Richard Losberg, Martha. The meeting of young people in Paris becomes the beginning of their love. The relationship between Edgar and Martha is developing far from easy. However, there remains hope that they will be luckier in life than their parents.
