The autobiographical book of the Austrian mountaineer, a member of the Nazi Party, Heinrich Harrer, tells the story of his life in a country where entry to foreigners is extremely limited. He ended up in Tibet after escaping from a British concentration camp, and his memories served as the basis for the infamous film directed by cult director Jean Jacques Annaud and starring Hollywood star Brad Pitt.
