The story “The End of the Earth” (“La mort de la Terre”, 1910) was published in Russian twice - in 1912 by the publishing houses of I. Semenov and “Svet”. The abridged and newly edited translation is published based on the latest edition. The story, especially the new form of existence of matter described in it - iron magnets - had a great influence on Francis Carsac (real name Francois Bordes). In his novel “Aliens from Nowhere” (“Ceux de nule part”, 1954), the humanoid races of the universe are at war with misliks - an exact replica of iron magnets. Published in English along with “The Xipehuz,” Roni Sr.’s most famous story.
The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program. For the most part, the translation of the text is of very high quality, but in some cases, due to the imperfection of the technology, there may be incorrect phrase translations in the text, as well as single words and expressions may not be translated.
