Who was Judas, the twelfth apostle of Jesus Christ? A traitor, a vile villain, guilty of breach of trust and denunciation? Or a faithful student, whose devotion to the Teacher knew no bounds and whose boundless self-sacrifice ultimately doomed him to the eternal damnation of humanity, the indelible mark of “Judas”?.. These and other questions are answered by our research, based, firstly, on a thorough study New Testament texts, secondly, on the analysis of the works of a number of researchers, philosophers, historians and fiction writers. The cover design uses an image of a fragment of the painting “The Kiss of Judas” by Gustave Doré.
