For decades, England has been tormented by a mysterious illness: hordes of the living dead constantly crawl out of the ground and strive to eat the civilian population. Noble families send their offspring to Japan and China to learn martial arts to repel zombie attacks. After the evil spirits have destroyed all the inhabitants of the Netherfield Park estate, it is rented by an interesting gentleman in all respects named Bingley. He soon makes acquaintance with his neighbors, including the five daughters of the Bennett couple - outstanding warriors, protection and support of the county. Thus begins a story of romantic feelings and bloody battles, partly familiar to fans of Jane Austen. “Microsurgical intervention” by Los Angeles producer and writer Seth Grahame-Smith in the famous Austen novel caused a storm of emotions among literary critics. The combination of a classical text with elements of modern mass culture gave a striking (and for some, outrageous) effect of bright satire, dangerously balancing on the edge of the grotesque.
