Розслідування Адама Квайра стає не лише пошуком вбивці, а й подорожжю у глибини людської природи, де злість і жадоба влади можуть призвести до найжахливіших наслідків. Персонажі прописані дуже детально, і їхні мотивації та внутрішні конфлікти роблять їх живими та реальними. Хоча переклад тексту може містити деякі недоліки, це не зменшує загального враження від книги. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто любить детективи з елементами історичного трилера, адже вона залишає незабутнє враження та спонукає до роздумів про темні сторони людської природи.
