Jan Guillou, one of Sweden's most popular contemporary writers, creates a vivid fresco of life in medieval Scandinavia in his fascinating novel. Together with the main character of the novel, young Arn, the reader will visit the estate of his father Magnus, the Cistercian monastery, a village wedding and the Thing, a congress of noble knights, where it is decided who will be the king of the country. The novel, translated into many languages of the world, was awarded Sweden's highest literary award in 1988. At the moment, the writer has created four novels from the "Knight Arn" series, but only the first has been published in Russia. The "Knight Arn" cycle: 1. The Road to Jerusalem (1998), ISBN 91-1-300565-0 the first book in the series.2. The Knight Templar (1999), ISBN 91-1-300733-5 the second book in the series.3. The Kingdom at the End of the Road (2000), ISBN 91-89426-02-9 the third book in the series.4. The Heritage of Arn (2001), ISBN 91-642-0003-5 a follow-up about Birger jarl, the founder of Stockholm - fictionalized to be Arn's grandson. Based on the first three books, two full-length films were made in Europe:1 . Arn: knight - Templar / Arn - Tempelriddaren (2007)2. Arn: United Kingdom / Arn - Riket vid vägens slut (2008)

The text of the book was translated from the original language using an artificial intelligence program.
