The uprising on Sirius threatened to be the spark that would ignite the entire galaxy and lead to the destruction of the Directorate-run empire, which is the tyranny of an elite group of people whose brains are connected to a computer. To conquer the rebels of Sirius, the Directorate has only one chance left - these are three once powerful, but now pretty battered patrol cruisers and a race of primitive warriors - the Romanans. For several centuries, the Directorate tried to eradicate from people such human traits as initiative and the ability to take decisive action, and therefore the real warriors remained only in a long-forgotten colony, simply called Mir. But will the Romanans want to voluntarily join the people who came from the stars and once tried to destroy the world, and if they do, will they, who still have not known modern technology, be able to resist an enemy ready to use the legendary weapon of destruction, the deadliest known to mankind?
