1997, the year before the 2nd presidential elections in Ukraine. The family of one of the major Ukrainian bankers, Konstantin Krasnov, is captured by the head of his own security service in a country house. For the release of his wife and children from Krasnov, they demand the transfer of a large sum to the account of a trust company in one of the offshore zones. Events that occur on the same day in Ukraine and abroad show that, in fact, the fate of the bank and the enterprises belonging to it , the life of Krasnov’s family, himself, his friends and associates, are simply bargaining chips in the game played between the Prime Minister and the President. The main prize in this game is the position of the future head of state, the stakes are human lives. And the wheel of intrigue turns - as always - greed, ambition and betrayal.

Книга "Лівий берег Стіксу" занурює читача в складний і напружений світ української політики напередодні виборів. Автор майстерно передає атмосферу 1997 року, коли життя звичайних людей переплітається з великими політичними іграми. Сюжет наповнений несподіваними поворотами, які тримають у напрузі до останньої сторінки. Особливо вражає, як автор показує, що життя сім'ї Костянтина Краснова стає розмінною монетою в грі, де ставки – це не лише гроші, а й людські долі. Хоча текст перекладено за допомогою штучного інтелекту, що іноді призводить до незначних недоліків у формулюваннях, загальна якість перекладу не заважає насолоджуватися захоплюючим сюжетом. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто цікавиться політичною драмою та психологічними аспектами людських відносин!
