On the wall of the oldest and most famous oceanographic museum in Monaco are inscribed the names of the ships with which the largest discoveries in the field of oceanography in the history of mankind are associated. And in this list there is the word “Vitiaz”. Makarov immortalized the ship he commanded, and thereby once again confirmed the immutable law - every ship is only as good as the people who sail on it. It should be noted that the “Vityaz” had a brother - the cruiser “Rynda” of the same type. He lived a long life, but during his service he did not show himself in anything noticeable and therefore is little known to fans of naval history. But the ship, which served in the fleet for more than 30 years, deserves to be remembered.
