None of the inhabitants of the Xenobe-19 colony thought about the name of the planet. Torn off from the Earth, having lost contact with their ancestral home, they fought for survival as best they could. Few asked questions and tried to find the truth, to understand why the colony was slowly dying out, and the city was turned into a Citadel, besieged by mechanoforms of another race. Several people, placed outside society by a combination of circumstances, find the strength to take risks in order to find out the truth. None of them even I couldn’t imagine what it would be like - the truth about ourselves...

Автор майстерно створює атмосферу напруги та загадки, занурюючи нас у життя жителів, які намагаються зрозуміти причини свого вимирання та загрози з боку механоформів. Сюжет тримає в напрузі до останньої сторінки, а персонажі викликають співчуття та бажання дізнатися більше про їхні долі. Незважаючи на деякі недоліки в перекладі, які, безумовно, можуть відволікати, загальна якість тексту залишається на високому рівні. Ця книга спонукає до роздумів про людську природу, виживання та пошуки істини. Рекомендую всім, хто любить наукову фантастику та глибокі філософські питання!
