"In Human Clothes" is a story about a pelican who dreamed of becoming a man. The boy Emil reveals to him the strange world of human beings living in the big city. The collection also includes the story "The Sphinx or the Robot" - a book whose chapters can be read in any order. And yet this is a completely coherent story of a girl, Lydia, living in a world where the laws of physics are stretched and turned inside out, creating a parallel reality. Strange things happen there, but Lydia treats them with childlike spontaneity and openness - and the reader discovers the world with her and looks for answers to questions.
