It would be great to meet real fairies in the Deep Forest. That's what a red-haired girl named Sarah Jane Dillard thought—at least until she got to know the magical people better. One day she found a strange man in the forest, completely covered with poisoned arrows. Sarah Jane took him to the farm to Aunt Lillian, a lonely old woman who was rumored to be a witch. And it turned out that, while rescuing the wounded man, Sarah Jane and Aunt Lillian found themselves involved in a long-term war between two fairy tribes. Even worse: all the Dillard sisters (six of them, and all of them are red-haired, like Sarah Jane) are kidnapped for ransom. Now the girl has to go to the magical world to help them out.
