She constantly addresses the topic of Jews in Turkey, the life of the Jewish community and the fate of women in the country. The novel “A Time to Love” (2011) is Behmoaras’s debut in fiction.

Роман "Час кохати" вражає своєю глибиною та емоційною напругою. Ліз Бехмоарас майстерно переносить читача в 1940 рік, в епоху, коли національні конфлікти та війна ставлять під загрозу навіть найсильніші почуття. Історія кохання між мусульманином та єврейкою в умовах соціального тиску та родинних упереджень розкриває не лише особисті драми, але й більші соціальні проблеми, з якими стикаються герої. Авторка вміло передає атмосферу того часу, створюючи яскраві образи персонажів, які змушують читача співпереживати їхнім переживанням. Хоча роман має деякі недоліки в перекладі, це не заважає йому бути потужним свідченням сили кохання, яка здатна долати будь-які перешкоди. Я б рекомендував цю книгу всім, хто цінує глибокі та зворушливі історії про кохання в умовах труднощів
