Boris Vian (1920 - 1959) is one of the most prominent representatives of the post-war French avant-garde. This volume of collected works includes two of the writer’s early novels, “Scolopendra and Plankton” (1947), “Catavasia in the Andennas” (1966), as well as Boris Vian’s most famous plays “To the Beginning Flayer” (1947), “Head is Spinning” (1951), "The Generals' Afternoon Tea" (1951), "Empire Builders" (1959). The works presented in this volume are published in Russian for the first time. In 1942, Vian wrote his first known work, “A Magic Tale for Not Quite Adults,” and immediately followed by the novel “Catavasia in the Andennes” (1943-1944), published only in 1966, after the death of the writer.
